Daniel T. shackle
As Managing Partner, Daniel Shackle brings not only a distinctive resume of business, governmental, and political management experience, but also an impressive military service history to Clements & Shackle.
Daniel concentrates his practice in business, corporate, and governmental areas of practice. Additionally, Daniel practices in veteran’s law, wills and trusts, estate planning, employment law, professional licensing, medical practice sales, management/union relations, and contract negotiations.
Daniel received his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2008. After law school, he worked for the City of Indianapolis as the Program Manager for Nuisance Abatement with the Department of Code Enforcement, a tax attorney with the State of Indiana Department of Revenue, and in private legal practice in Kansas City, Missouri. Daniel is also a 2001 graduate of Indiana University – Bloomington where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and was a scholarship ROTC cadet. Daniel is a former Captain in the United States Army and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for actions taken during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Most recently, before joining Clements & Shackle in April of 2014 as a Partner, Daniel was appointed by Mayor Greg Ballard as the Administrator/Chief of Indianapolis Animal Care and Control. During his tenure as Administrator/Chief, he managed fifty five (55) employees during 24-hour operations of the largest animal shelter in the State of Indiana. He successfully worked with AFSCME union management on operational and contractual issues, oversaw a volunteer force of fifteen hundred (1500) who contributed approximately twenty thousand (20,000) hours annually, managed a budget of over $4 million, and was responsible for more than four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) of grants awarded to the Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care & Control Foundation. He controlled all media relations including: appearances on all local television networks, various radio interviews, MSNBC live interview, and Today on NBC story.
Daniel was raised in Indianapolis and graduated from North Central High School. He currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Amy, and dog, Leila.
